Privacy Policy

Pip is a daily game for groups of friends. This page explains, plainly, what data we keep, what for, and what you can do about it.
What we keep
| Data | What for |
|---|---|
| Your email address | It’s how you log in and how you get your account back if you lose your password. We don’t send marketing email. |
| The name you choose | It’s what others see in your groups. It doesn’t have to be your real name. |
| Your games and scores | To build the daily and season rankings inside your groups. |
| Your chat messages | To show them to the other members of that group. Only your group sees them. |
| Your coins, characters and items | So your stuff is still yours when you come back. |
| Country and device type | To show a little flag on your profile and to know which devices have problems. This is not your location: it comes from your phone’s language settings. |
| A notification identifier | To let you know when someone beats you or your group’s streak is at risk. If you turn notifications off, it’s deleted. |
| Your purchases | To credit what you bought and to sort out any claim. We never see or store your card details: your phone’s store handles that. |
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We don’t ask for your location, contacts, photos or microphone.
- We don’t read your messages unless someone reports one (see below).
- We don’t send marketing email.
Ads
Pip shows ads that you choose to watch in exchange for something (an extra try, coins, a character). They never show up on their own and never interrupt a game.
Those ads are served by Google AdMob, which uses your phone’s advertising identifier to pick what to show you and to count how many people saw them. You can reset or limit that identifier in your phone settings (on Android: Settings → Google → Ads), and you can change your ad privacy choices from inside our app at any time.
How Google uses this information: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Reports and moderation
If someone reports a message or a profile, we keep a copy of that message so we can review it. That’s the only situation where we read chat content. We do it to be able to act when someone is harassing another person, not to snoop on conversations.
Who we share data with
Only with those needed to make the app work:
| Who | What for |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Hosts the database and accounts. |
| Google AdMob | The ads. |
| Expo | Sends the notifications. |
| Google Play | Charges the purchases. We never see your card. |
| Sentry | Tells us when the app breaks, so we can fix it. It receives nothing that identifies you: no email, no name, no account, no IP address. Only the error, where in the app it happened, and the phone model. |
Your rights
You can delete your account from the app, in Settings. Your profile, games, messages, coins and purchases are deleted right away, with no backup copy.
The only things that stay are the ones you share with a group (garden decorations, waterings, season history), because deleting those would mean deleting other people’s things. They stay with your name detached. Here’s the full breakdown, point by point.
You can also ask us for a copy of your data, or to fix something that’s wrong, by writing to the address below.
Minors
Pip is for people 13 and older. We don’t knowingly ask for or keep data from anyone younger. If you find out a child under 13 has an account, write to us and we’ll delete it.
How long we keep things
As long as you have an account. When you delete it, everything goes. Purchase records may remain in anonymous form, with no way to link them back to you, because of the stores’ accounting requirements.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll tell you inside the app.
